The Essex County Public School 2020-21 school year will start with virtual instruction due to COVID-19. ECPS will make available a Chromebook for each child's use to assist with virtual instruction. If you are interested in receiving a Chromebook for the 2020-21 school year please review the following details. You will be required to sign the Chromebook Use Agreement form. Please review the links below. The parent and student will be required to complete the signature page when picking up a Chromebook.

Parents have the option to purchase insurance for the Chromebook through School Device Coverage (SDC). We have already worked out a plan for parents to allow them to pay $27 for one year of coverage. This plan will protect against breaks, drops, loss, theft, and much more. Please review the link below if you are interested in this optional service for help protecting the Chromebook you receive.

If you elect not to purchase the optional insurance, damages to the Chromebook will be resolved in the following manner. ECPS will charge $50 for the first incident requiring repair or replacement of the damaged Chromebook. After the first repair, we will charge the full Chromebook price for replacement. Chromebooks will only be repaired or replaced after payment is received.
If you do not have internet access at home and are interested in receiving a hotspot for your child's use during the 2020-21 school year, please review the following information. Please note that this hotspot can only be used for your child's schoolwork. You will be required to sign the Hotspot Device Use Agreement form. Please review the links below. The parent and student will be required to complete the signature page when picking up a hotspot. Please fill out the “2020-21 Student Hotspot Interest Form” if you are interested in receiving a hotspot for use during the 2020-21 school year. Hotspots will be replaced at the full cost of the device if they are lost or damaged.

Scheduled pick-up time for Chromebooks and Hotspots will be on Wednesday, August 19th between the hours of 4 pm and 6 pm or Thursday, August 20th between the hours of 4 pm and 6 pm. Please drive to the front of the building where an ECPS faculty member will provide you with a Chromebook and agreement to sign. You will be required to show identification when you pick up the device. Please note that if you have students at multiple schools you will need to go to the appropriate school to pick up your child’s Chromebook or Hotspot. Only one Hotspot will be allowed per family, and pickup location will be based on the school of the child entered on the request form.
